Seems like the beloved show now has zero chances to return after the last failed attempt.

It’s been a while since NCIS: Hawai’i got betrayed by CBS announcing that the show’s successful run was over despite high ratings and all the love that it received from fans over the years.

Outraged by the network’s decision to launch another series at the expense of NCIS’ probably best spinoff to-date, fans were eager to prove that it wouldn’t take long for them to bring the beloved show back by calling CBS out and starting campaigns urging the network to change its mind.

Still, nothing went according to plan as CBS remained adamant about its decision to remove NCIS: Hawai’i from its schedule, yet it tried to show some sympathy for the heartbroken fans.

Months after the cancellation news broke, the hope for the series’ return remained in its fans’ hearts no matter what, but the latest revelation coming from CBS’ President just completely ruined it one last time.

Ahead of CBS’ upcoming TV season that will bring back lots of fan-favorite shows with no sign of NCIS: Hawai’i among them, the network’s President David Stapf opened up about the harsh period when CBS faced major backlash regarding its decision to ditch extremely successful shows like So Help Me Todd, CSI: Vegas and NCIS: Hawai’i.

Stapf admitted that he’d actually loved those series and would also like to see them thriving on CBS for years to come, but all of them were quite unfortunate to be not the strongest challengers for the network’s time slots that eventually were given to more promising shows.

However, Stapf’s confessions aren’t even that striking compared to what the interview further unveiled. According to Deadline, CBS made an attempt to shop the canceled series to other streaming services or studios, but none of them expressed any interest in giving one of the ditched shows a new home.

Considering that NCIS: Hawai’i was CBS’ true darling and garnered millions of viewers for all of its seasons, it’s even more disheartening to find out that no one else saw a huge potential that the spinoff’s future installments would have.

Despite NCIS: Hawai’i’s cancellation, the franchise is set to make a grand comeback to the screens this fall, with the original show’s season 22 and NCIS: Origins arriving on CBS while NCIS: Tony & Ziva will premiere on Paramount+.
