It’s a miracle all of them could handle what Riverdale had to offer.

With the Riverdale finale on the way, fans of the show, as well as the majority of its longtime haters, can't deny the rush of nostalgic feelings it brings. The CW's high school extravaganza Riverdale left no one indifferent, and the show's cast knows firsthand how hard it is to say goodbye.

Getting on the show, however, was even harder for most of them. It turns out that not only were the cast members not completely familiar with the original material, they weren't even auditioned for their singing skills when they tried out for the role.

The truth came out during the group interview with Vulture when KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes all admitted at the same time that no one even asked them to sing during the audition. Madelaine Petsch, who plays head cheerleader Cheryl Blossom, had to add that no one even asked her if she could dance, even though her role required a lot of skill.

“They just put songs in there and were like, “You guys are singing, whether you suck or not,” Reinhart, who portrayed Betty Cooper, noted.

The only person from the entire cast to be auditioned for singing was Cole Sprouse, who portrayed Jughead on the show. Given the extensive acting background that Cole has already gained from the years he has spent on Disney Channel projects, he was the most likely to have more skills to bring to the table.

The casting directors and producers were lucky to get such a talented cast, as all the members seemed to fit in perfectly not only with the musical numbers but also with the campiness of the show. Because the production was so fast and so big, the actors said, they didn't even have time to really get into what they were doing.

And perhaps that is the key to the absurdity that has made Riverdale so endearing to so many and so successful over the years. No one should ask questions about a show like this, it's more about trusting the process.

If you want to join the Riverdale wrap party, be sure to tune in to The CW on Wednesday, August 23.
