Sometimes a single line can define an entire relationship.

Young Sheldon 's S6 finale caught fans off guard and gave them a lot of details to process as they dreamed up the new season.

It's fair to say that the last episode actually didn't end on any major cliffhangers, which is actually good for the fans.

But still, an observant and intuitive fan would always find a plotline (or just a line) to obsess over. And the season finale gave them just the perfect case.

You may all remember that in the last episode, Sheldon actually ratted Missy out to their parents, telling them that his sister had been sneaking out at night and exhibiting not-so-great behavior.

This storyline is actually quite painful to parse. Sure, Missy felt betrayed by her brother because she specifically asked him not to tell anyone. But as all fans know, that was a mission impossible for him.

Some fans think that Missy overreacted to the whole scene, and she shouldn't hate Sheldon in any way, since he did this for good, because he was probably worried about her.

But the rest of the fans just think he is miserable trying to keep this secret between them. And we know there's nothing harder for him to do.

"Sheldon was such an idiot in that episode. I also don't buy into the whole "he was truly worried" motive for ratting her out. Sheldon has never been good with secrets, he obsesses over them to a point where they eat him up. I think his major motive was getting relief from this burden," Redditor carpe_nochem said.

Well, it seems that Missy was just tired of never getting enough love and attention from her parents as Sheldon did. And the only thing she got in the end was an undeserved punishment brought on her with the "help" of her brother.

So there's definitely a motive to hate the one who betrayed you. But maybe not in a real way, just in a moment of agony. Still, once the word is out, you can't take it back...
