After multiple delays thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, Tom Cruise’s new action movie finally premiered in Rome, and the early critics got a lot to say.

On July 12, Tom Cruise will return to the big screens as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, the seventh entry of the world-famous action franchise. The new installment had to go through multiple delays because of the pandemic restrictions, but now it’s all ready to go.

Prior to the official worldwide release, the movie premiered in Rome earlier this week, and the early viewers have apparently had a blast with it: both director Christopher McQuarrie and lead actor Tom Cruise are bathing in praise now.

Mission: Impossible 7 is largely complimented on its phenomenal action sequences, high production value, brilliant acting by both the old and the new cast, and interesting and well-executed villain portrayal — the main antagonist in the new movie is an AI, and apart from being action-packed, M:I7 reflects on the technology.

“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning [Part One] is incredible. The fastest 2 hr 30 min movie I’ve seen in a long time. One of the best films I’ve seen this year and Tom Cruise has done it again. Demands to be seen on the biggest screen. Cannot recommend this movie enough,” wrote Steven Weintraub from Collider.

He’s joined by virtually every other early viewer, and the only thing the audience can’t settle on is whether the scene where Cruise yeets himself off a cliff while riding a motorbike was the best or if the insane fight on top of a speeding train which consequently crashes into a bridge destroying itself was cooler (the latter is winning).

The overwhelmingly positive response from the early viewers and critics leads us to think that there’s still hope for Mission: Impossible 7 to profit big despite only having a week to do so.

If the global audience decides to trust the Rome premiere’s results, Tom Cruise’s newest project could potentially hit the bank even with these time restrictions.

The praise online is insane as of now, and this time around, we’re yet to find any reason to not trust it: Tom Cruise has made his name by delivering the insane, the impossible, and the impeccable, and we’re expecting him to have done it again.
