'Manliest Movie Ever': Critics Have Already Fallen In Love With 'The Northman'
Robert Eggers' 'The Northman' is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films coming this spring, given director's excellent background – with both his previous projects ('The Witch' and 'Lighthouse') quickly achieving cult following. Looks like Eggers' latest certainly won't disappoint – critics are crazy about his Viking revenge thriller, even comparing the film to some of the cult classics.
CinemaBlend's Sean O'Connell praised the film as the 'manliest movie' he's ever seen, adding that it's expectedly 'primal, and angry, and majestic, and vicious'.

Erik Davis said that 'You definitely won't be able to take your eyes off this blood-soaked revenge tale', whilst commending Skarsgård and Nicole Kidman for their incredible performances as the son and his mother and in conclusion describing the film as 'freaky and angry' – in a good way.
IndieWire's David Ehrlich praised Eggers for keeping his original style intact, and his colleague Kate Erbland described her rapidly changing emotions while watching the film.
Gizmodo's Germain Lussier went even further, comparing Eggers latest to Ridley Scott 's 'Gladiator '.
Looks like fans are in for some good old-fashioned ultraviolence when 'The Northman' hits the theatres on April 22, 2022.
