Lindsay Lohan’s 34%-Rated Rom Com Blows Up Netflix Top: Is It a Must-Watch or a Time Waster?
Was the triumphant comeback just a joke in our faces?..
There’s nothing in this world that would stop new rom coms from being released, maybe because it’s always a good idea to feed the viewers with a good-old love drama with humorous twists.
One of the latest premiers on Netflix was Irish Wish, featuring Lindsay Lohan. It dropped on Netflix’ on March 15 and is already dominating the platform’s global chart, being only inferior to Damsel. But is it really that good of a movie?
Well, judging by the fact that the rom-com only got 34% on Rotten Tomatoes, it seems that it wasn’t that well-received by critics. Audience score is a little higher, 45%, but still gives almost no hope that the movie is a must watch.
What Irish Wish Is About?
The romance follows Lindsay Lohan's character Maddie, who is in love with the writer she works with. However, she soon finds herself in a situation where her best friend and her crush are getting married and she has to be the bridesmaid.
She spontaneously makes a wish to find true love and wakes up the next day as the bride, only to realize that it's not true and her real love is someone else. As you can see, the plot is a fantasy tale that gives off a creepy vibe and is all about fake friendships and wrong choices.
“Lindsay Lohan's character wanted to steal her friend's fiance and then when Lindsay was engaged to the same man, her friend wanted to steal her fiance.... Very weird premise for a romance movie,” Redditor TripSmart7177 said.
What Fans Liked About Irish Wish?
Still, there were viewers who didn't feel the need to give the rom com such a hard time. They say they didn't expect much from it, and they got what they thought they would: a lighthearted movie with a simple and predictable premise.
But there are two things that fans of the movie can't stop talking about: Lindsay Lohan's healthy looks and the stunning Irish scenery.
Irish Wish has just been released on Netflix, so don't miss your chance to make up your own mind about the movie.
