Netflix, can we make it happen?

Even though the golden years of Gilmore Girls are long gone, the show remains one of the most comforting to revisit. What could be better than a story about a small town where everything bad has been erased from existence and everything good about the community has been left in place? Of course, that only applies to the first seven seasons.

As is often the case, the reboot that Netflix tried to push in 2016 was nothing short of a disaster. The characters we all loved were slaughtered on the spot, and the vibe of the show was permanently altered.

Since that tragic revival, I've sworn off ever watching it again, but Lauren Graham's latest idea for a sequel has me changing my mind.

Will There Be Another Gilmore Girls Reboot?

@theursulaedit For you lovelies who want more from Lauren Graham book tour, il share over the next few days, im still buzzing from the meet & greet. But ultimately we all want to know the answer to Logan? Dean? Or Jess? While there are no official plans to reboot the fan-favorite mother-daughter saga, and the actress made it very clear in her answer, Lauren Graham's idea of what Lorelai's life would look like in another sequel is exactly what fans would want to see. The actress shared this during the book tour for Have I Told You This Already.

Of course, it is time for Rory to move on with her life and make her own choices, whether we like them or not. But Lorelai doesn't have to stay alone. Now that she has another baby on her hands, and I am inclined to believe that this baby is indeed a girl named Lola, she can have her Gilmore Girls 2.0 experience.

Since Lorelai has waited a long time, grown and learned from some of her mistakes throughout the series, it would have been very interesting to see her adjust to life with a newborn, or even a toddler, if the show wanted to do a time jump of a few years.

Even though the way she raised Rory wasn't always perfect, and Rory ended up with some problems because of it, Lola could have been her second chance. Would she be overly protective of her? Would she be too critical of herself? What would Lola's relationship with Richard and Emily be like?

If done right, another Gilmore Girls sequel could have been the ultimate comfort show of the 2020s. The only problem is, after the previous Netflix flop, not too many people would trust the same creators to get it right. But nothing can stop us from fantasizing about it!

Until then, we can always go back to the original Gilmore Girls show and stream all 7 seasons on Netflix.
