Latest Warrior Nun Rumor Claims Movies Won't Have Original Cast, Fans in Disbelief
Halobearers haven’t been having much fun with the latest news, and as if Simon Barry’s revelation and the humiliating contest weren’t enough, another bombshell just dropped.
Until recently, Warrior Nun’s entire story was that of success and fight. The highest-rated Netflix original series on Rotten Tomatoes, the show earned itself a massive loyal fan base and survived being axed by the streamer against all odds, setting a prime example of not giving up to other canceled projects and their fans.
Not only did Warrior Nun become the first Netflix series to escape the death room but it also managed to get a movie trilogy and extended universe deal which is simply unheard of. Thanks to the combined efforts of creator Simon Barry and Halobearers, the show received a phenomenal second chance to thrive and grow on its own.
This was a massive win for the fandom, and Halobearers were rightfully celebrating.
Then, the devastating news started dropping.
First, creator Simon Barry revealed he wasn’t involved with the upcoming movie trilogy and had “no deal in place” for writing or directing services. This shocked fans since without Barry, there can’t be Warrior Nun, and his absence from production spells failure. Halobearers started agitating for Warrior Nun to hire Barry on the films.
Second, the latest “huge announcement” on Warrior Nun Saved turned out to be a lie: instead of some fascinating news, all we got was an art contest with a prize pool of one hand-drawn picture that was even restricted to the US and Canada only. Seeing how many Halobearers don’t live in NA, it was a massive disappointment.
Now, the new tragedy struck — reportedly, that is.
According to rumors, the promised Warrior Nun movie trilogy will not feature the original cast as the franchise’s new owners have their own plans. Coupled with the Simon Barry news, this is a proper disaster: how can there be a Warrior Nun without both its creator and its stars? Fans are locked in a state of grief and disbelief.
On X (formerly Twitter) we’re already seeing calls for Halobearers to join a new fight: to either have both Barry and the cast return for the trilogy or make sure the movies don’t get made at all. This way, at least, the legacy of Warrior Nun won’t be ruined.
