Julianna Margulies Won’t Reprise Her Iconic Show Role (It’s Not the One You Think Of)
Though now the actress probably has more spare time to show up in her famous series’ spinoff.
Julianna Margulies may have some chances to come back to her role in a 2009 political drama show, but she’s definitely out of her most recent successful project.
According to Variety, the actress is no longer listed as a cast member on Apple TV ’s journalistic tragicomedy series The Morning Show, starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and thus won’t be reprising her role in the upcoming fourth season.
Though many have already connected the dots being reassured that Margulies was forced to quit the show due to her political statements made last year, the new reports suggest that The Morning Show’s crew had come up with such a decision long before the actress caused all the controversy.
Additionally, she was reportedly offered an appearance in the upcoming season’s one episode, an option she eventually rejected. The rumor also has it that Margulies would possibly return in season 5, as the actress was already asked if she would consider it, but for now her response remains unknown to the public.
In The Morning Show, Margulies portrayed Laura Peterson, a former news anchor who becomes a love interest of Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson that eventually takes Peterson’s position over. Despite their tough breakup in season 3, Laura doesn’t seem to go anywhere as her storyline keeps flowing through the entire season until the very end of it.
Now that Margulies isn’t involved in The Morning Show’s production, while her chances to come back in the fifth season are still pretty slim, fans of the recent CBS hit show may already have their fingers crossed for the actress’ appearance as a guest star.
Back in the day, Margulies starred in a 2009 drama series The Good Wife, which eventually paved the way for a spinoff revolving around the original show’s side character and lawyer Elsbeth Tascioni.
Given that Elsbeth’s new job as a private investigator in New York City proved itself to be compelling enough to get yet another season, chances are that the second installment may reintroduce her colleagues from the past, including Julianna Margulies’ Alicia Florrick.
