One of the biggest action stars in the world is no young man, but his physical performance is still immaculate. Want to look like John Wick? Here’s his secret.

Keanu Reeves is among the best action actors of all time, and he’s been going at it for decades now: from The Matrix to John Wick, Keanu’s track record is filled with franchises and movies that were physically and mentally demanding.

Even his sheer brilliance as an actor wasn’t enough for them as he also had to be in his best shape.

Seeing how Reeves is closing in on his sixties, his physical performance is far beyond just impressive, and the latest John Wick movie proved it once again.

While many people wonder how in the world Keanu is still as great at it, his personal trainer, Patrick Murphy, already revealed his secrets to Men’s Journal back in 2021.

“John Wick needs crazy endurance, a powerful core, and grip strength. I spent a lot of time dreaming up different combinations and pairings of exercises. I pay a lot of attention to the lines that the body naturally wants to make. That is what I am doing with Keanu, working to encourage proper posture and alignment, which in the end gives him better leverage and strength,” Murphy explained.

But the phenomenal results of the actor are not based solely on the training program: according to the trainer, it’s largely because of Keanu’s dedication and iron will that he pushes through rep after rep and always stays on top of his game.

“Keanu is an animal. I never have to convince him to do another rep, but our workouts are designed to make him feel good and strong, not destroy him. Because he is getting so beat up during the shoot as it is. <...> I am always blown away by his level of commitment. There is the heart of a warrior in there,” Murphy shared.

With a character like his, Keanu Reeves won’t seemingly ever back down on his physical shape as long as he can help it — and as long as he keeps making action movies. And that, we think, is not ending anytime soon: the actor loves his job, and after all, without Reeves, who else would show the world what a real fighting sequence looks like?
