Jessica Knight’s Dilemma Poses the Biggest Threat to NCIS’ Best Couple Since Ellie & Nick
Ruining the first promising couple’s relationships that soon is a shame.
There are still several months left until NCIS ’ season 22 finally arrives on the screens, but the whole anticipation is filled with sadness and sinister omens for the future of the show’s beloved couple.
The latest installment’s finale saw Jessica Knight finally making her biggest dream come true and accepting a job offer which will take her to California for years to come, yet it will still force her to face a difficult decision.
By leaving the MCRT for good, the character risks ruining her blooming relationships with her colleague Jimmy Palmer, something that still has fans divided regarding Jessica’s choice of successful career, not personal happiness.
What makes their possible breakup even worse is that Jessica and Jimmy are currently the show’s best couple with the healthiest relationship, and even another popular pairing from the past seasons can’t compare.
NCIS’ possible heartbreaking plot twists coming in the next season may turn out to be a reminder for the series' lovers of yet another couple, whose relationship was over as soon as one of the characters departed from the team.
In NCIS’ season 18, Ellie Bishop and Nick Torres also call it quits after Ellie is accused of leaking NSA documents and then accepts a new job as an undercover agent. Though the couple broke up for the same reason that may potentially ruin Jessica and Jimmy’s relationships, Ellie and Nick’s story is still far from being as tragic as their colleagues’ soon-to-be-ended romance.
A couple of seasons back, when Jessica and Jimmy met each other for the very first time, it was made pretty clear that the chemistry between them was there all along, even though at first both denied it and pretended to be just friends.
Having started dating, the characters didn’t rush things and let their romance get deeper with time thus forming a bond that NCIS’ other couples and their often chaotic relationships couldn’t boast of.
On top of that, should Jessica and Jimmy indeed break up, NCIS will once again punch Jimmy in the face, making him suffer yet once again, considering that he’s always been unlucky when it comes to saying goodbye to his loved ones.
The chances for Jessica and Jimmy’s relationships to be ruined by the former’s departure from the MCRT are still pretty high, yet fans have their fingers crossed that the age of technology will be able to right this wrong since the characters may find a solution in a long-distance relationship with constant video calls.
NCIS is coming back to CBS with its season 22 this fall.
