And it’s not that famous door that still has everyone talking.

Almost thirty years after it completely blew the whole world away upon its release, James Cameron ’s epic disaster movie Titanic now seems to be nothing but a perfection, where every detail couldn’t be showcased better. Still, back in the day the film underwent a whole list of changes that eventually helped it become the worldwide raving success that hasn’t really quietened down to this day.

Apart from that iconic door that couldn’t save Leonardo DiCaprio ’s Jack from drowning, Céline Dion’s heart-shattering ballad My Heart Will Go On also appears to be a kind of synonym to the grand movie, though initially it had all the risks of being brutally turned down by James Cameron himself.

The singer recently reminisced about the time when another wave of fame captured her upon Titanic’s release. In a video posted on Céline Dion’s TikTok account, reflecting on the 1998 Oscar ceremony where she received the Academy Award for Best Original Song, Dion revealed that James Cameron was initially against the idea of featuring any song in the movie.

According to the singer, Cameron was firm in his belief that Titanic was already great without any additional music, but the writer of My Heart Will Go On later approached her with a suggestion that she sing the song so that Cameron would hear just how it would sound.

Céline Dion’s late husband and manager at that time, René Angélil, had an even better idea, saying that recording the song straight in the studio would give even more chances to talk James Cameron into adding it to the Titanic soundtrack.

The singer then admitted she’d never gone to record the song in the studio ever again as the demo version they had created impressed Cameron so much that he later used it for the movie.

Dion then ironically revealed that “they used my voice as a one-take thing,” though that one-take thing was surely one of the biggest moments of her career that eventually earned her an Oscar and a myriad of other prestigious awards, as well as everyone’s love that seems to be growing even to this day.
