We hate the idea of having to say goodbye to the show, but it will happen at some point.

The show is one of the most iconic comedies ever produced on television. For more than a decade, the gang has entertained fans with dark humor, irony, sarcasm, and jokes about everything and everyone.

And now, the audience is left wondering when and how the beloved series will come to an end.

Although viewers are upset at the mere thought of the show ending soon, some are predicting that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia will continue into its twentieth season.

Fans feel the series should wrap up with an episode where the gang is finally caught for all of their misdeeds and sent to prison. Each member ends up in a different cell, forced to face their own demons while serving their time.

Another popular option is that the main characters decide to sell the bar and go their separate ways. It would be a perfect kind of bittersweet ending.

Some think the final episode will be Frank's death, with the will being read after the funeral and Dennis and Dee's evil father leaving the gang with nothing.

Redditor menasor36 thinks the show should end with a prelude to The Gang Gets Racist episode. The fan has even plotted it out.

Frank goes on a business trip to Vietnam, Dee starts taking acting classes and meets a guy named Terrell, Charlie visits a new cafe that opened nearby and meets Waitress again, and Dennis and Mac continue to argue about who pays the rent until the fade out.

Another popular suggestion came from Redditor discount_jesus420. The fan imagined an episode where one of the gang's enemies, The Lawyer, takes the characters to court for some wrongdoing and tries to sue them for the bar.

But by a happy coincidence, the case turns out to be a failure for the antagonist, and the gang regains their property.

Many fans are hoping that the beloved show won't just have a farewell episode. The series will be released less frequently, but perhaps themed episodes will be aired every few years to keep viewers happy.

Season 16 was released a week ago, episode 3 arrives on Wednesday, June 14.
