The ending of the premiere episode The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon explained.

The first episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon had a jaw-dropping ending. It hinted or, to be honest, literally screamed that this show is more than Daryl’s adventure across France.

The episode suggests that there might be some significant developments that fans have been speculating about for the past couple of years.

The episode leaves us with more questions than answers. The ending was unexpected, to say the least. We get a glimpse of Le Havre, a port in France. This is where Daryl, Isabelle, and others are trying to reach.

We are also introduced to Madame Genet, a new character who seems to be the ultimate villain of this place. She holds immense power, somewhat similar to Major General Beale from the CRM.

There are rumors of ships coming in and out of this port, possibly connecting America and France. And Daryl was on one of those ships. But what if Carol was too?

Melissa McBride, who played Carol, is officially set to appear in the show. In the end of the episode, we find out that “prisoners” escaped the ship; in plural. So maybe Carol was also on the ship.

The episode also gives a nod to Rick Grimes' brother, Jeffrey Grimes from the comics, who was in Spain. We found out that Daryl jumped from the ship somewhere near Spain. The nun Isabelle also mentions contacting someone from Spain.

While it's unlikely that the show will introduce Jeffrey, the reference to Spain is a cool easter egg for comic fans.

One of the most intriguing parts is the experiments being conducted on Walkers. Madame Genet seems to be at the center of this, possibly trying to make them more dangerous, basically creating a weapon.

There's also a big possibility that Genet and these experiments might be connected to the CRM, suggesting a larger conspiracy at play.

The episode brilliantly sets the stage for a larger narrative that connects various characters and storylines. It's evident that Daryl's journey in France is crucial to the broader TWD universe, and we can’t wait to see how it plays out.
