Millions, thousands, billions…

Undoubtedly, K-pop and K-dramas are the most discussed pop cultural phenomena of the last few years. Among the idols, it is BTS member Kim Taehyung, also known as V, who has taken most of the public attention due to his net worth’s rapid growth.

While the star is currently serving in the Special Task Force of the South Korean Army and will be discharged only next summer, we can quietly peek at his income and speculate on how he became the richest member of the most iconic K-pop band.

There is no surprise that music gave him it all: fame, partnerships and, of course, tons of money. Apart from BTS (and just in case, it is the best-selling musical group in South Korean history), last year V made a successful solo debut with the album Layover.

Even if you’re not into K-pop, we bet you’ve heard the single Slow Dancing from this album, and can you imagine how much income is brought by the songs that everyone knows?

Apart from singing, Taehyung is also very much of an actor. Firstly, he took a supporting role in the historical K-drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth in 2016. Later the singer continued his TV appearances with two reality shows, Disney+ In the Soop: Friendcation (2022) and Prime Video ’s Jinny's Kitchen (2023).

Speaking of V’s lucrative brand collaborations, be sure he’s really successful in the fashion industry. Back in 2023, before he was sent to the military service, the singer became a global ambassador for the French luxury brands Celine and Cartier, and it’s an outstanding achievement.

While we’re not talking about Taehyung’s expensive cars and apartments, it’s high time to eventually tell you how much money your favorite idol possesses. For 2024, V has an estimated net worth of $40 million and is considered the second-richest K-pop artist, surpassed only by IU ($45 million).

As for other BTS members, three of them also entered the top-5 of the richest idols: Jungkook with $35 million, J-Hope with $30 million and Suga with $30 million too.

The group will be reunited only in 2025, and it’ll be really curious to see how the singers’ career will evolve after the scheduled pause. Stay tuned!
