An ugly duckling slowly turning into a beautiful swan on TV screens? Tale as old as time/ Remember The Wonder Years' Winnie Cooper, portrayed by Danica McKellar?

Although her character was a classic "nerd" for only one episode, she still managed to make us remember the image of a little girl with glasses and braces.

But after the pilot, Cooper turns into the real beauty queen in no time and becomes the prettiest girl in her school and makes Fred Savage's Kevin Arnold fall in love with her.

Just this month, McKellar enjoyed a little throwback to those times on Instagram.

After The Wonder Years ended, McKellar went to UCLA and earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics.

Since then, she has written several books about how to make math fun for kids, as well as some other significant math-related books, and has become a public figure in the field.

And that's a real win for science, we think. The 48-year-old Danica is a real hottie, so it can be really easy for her to convince almost anyone, girl or boy, to really love math, or at least give it a chance.

While being a math genius, McKellar still acts. She had many part-time roles in iconic series like How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, and Dancing With the Stars.

The actress also has an upcoming movie titled Swing Into Romance, which, according to McKellar, will also involve "some dancing."
