Harry Potter Fans Name the Only Spell They Want to Use in Real Life
The world of Harry Potter has thousands of spells, and fans decided to settle on which singular spell they’d love to have in real life if they could only pick one.
As captivating as the Wizarding World is, the Muggles, unfortunately, can’t access it. No potions, artifacts, and spells for us, folks — but only if we give in to the sad and grey reality. If we instead choose to brighten it up a bit and muse about which spells we’d like to use in our everyday lives, we can feel like wizards ourselves for a while.
Potterheads over at the largest Harry Potter subreddit recently started a discussion about just that. The rule is simple: you can only pick one spell to use in the real world, so choose wisely. Despite all those numerous spells from the books and movies, most fans settled on very similar answers with similar explanations.
However, there were still quite a few options, and they said a lot about the people answering the question!
Practical and down-to-earth people immediately went with spells like Reparo or Evanesco to help them maintain order in their houses. Some of them also pointed out that these spells could be used to create immensely successful repair or cleaning services that provide top-notch results in no time… Almost magical, right?
Adventurous folks or the exhausted megapolis inhabitants put the Apparition spell above anything else. It’s surely very convenient to be able to travel around in a matter of a second, but since Apparition has quite a few restrictions, others suggested that Portus would be a better alternative to avoid the danger and hassle.
True Slytherins-at-heart chose either the Imperius curse or Legilimens. Some of the people who gave those answers tried to hide behind more mundane reasons, but others straight-up admitted that they wouldn’t pass up on the opportunity to manipulate people either directly or through reading their thoughts and emotions.
While all those answers were great and justified, we were happy to find a couple of true OGs who didn’t hesitate to choose Piertotum Locomotor. We can’t help but agree: we always wanted to use that spell, too!
