The Guardians of the Galaxy actress revealed in a new interview for The Hollywood Reporter some never-heard-before details about filming the third and presumably final movie of James Gunn’s Marvel superhero team.
One of them that caught the most of fans’ attention was that Karen didn’t have any idea about — spoiler alert — Star-Lord’s possible return to the MCU universe that was unambiguously hinted at in the famous Marvel post-credit scene.
The actress recalls that such unexpected news — which she doesn’t remember being mentioned in the script at all — was “pretty surprising, but it was cool as well.”

Beside that, Karen didn’t miss an opportunity to reflect on her character Nebula who, over the course of the plot, goes through psychological healing after years of being abused by Thanos and thus, according to Gillan, transforms into an absolutely different person
In the interview Karen revealed she truly expects for her fictional character to find happiness in life now that she has a real purpose she will stick to — and, probably, Nebula will finally be able to receive and to show love for people she cares for, with Drax being one of them.
The closing arc of Karen’s Guardians of the Galaxy conversation became her touching tributes to Nebula and especially to director James Gunn. Having mentioned that her story with the character had turned into a 10-year journey, Karen said it was “the greatest thing” that had ever happened to her.
Talking about James Gunn and her possible return to ever working with the famous director again, Gillan confessed she usually leaves it all for the universe to decide, but she would definitely sign up for Gunn’s new project, calling him “the best”.
