It’s getting tiring.

General Hospital is one of the longest-running shows on television, and that title comes with its own set of flaws and perks. While viewers tend to enjoy looking back at the show's most exciting storylines from the 80s and 90s, they also find the newer seasons far more repetitive and boring as the writers seem to lack any inspiration.

Worst of all, though, is seeing the show you once loved rewrite its own history in favor of newer, far less interesting storylines. Whether it's a genuinely overlooked detail or something done by the production team in a deliberate attempt to make the characters better fit the narrative they're pushing, fans are always quick to point out these mistakes.

Kristina’s Reaction to Sonny Shooting Dante

It is quite obvious that General Hospital is trying its best to make the viewers believe that Sonny is just as powerful and dangerous as he once was, and to create drama around his persona. Although many fans cannot take these attempts seriously because of his recent appearance, which lacks any intimidating quality to it, they have come to accept this.

What they cannot accept, however, is the changing of the narrative when it comes to something very obviously untrue. Like Kristina finding out about Sonny's misdeeds now, when she was present at the scene where he was exposed years ago. Whether the writers really didn't remember, or didn't want to remember, fans were quick to bring up the evidence.

Back in 2010, Kristina was in the room when Lulu announced that Dante had been shot. Not only that, but she was a teenager who understood everything that was going on and made sure to voice her opinion. Even though it was 4 years ago, if General Hospital can remember and bring back characters from the '90s, surely they could remember this.

Bringing back the altered events of the past is one thing that makes General Hospital's narrative completely unreliable, making viewers doubt some of the events that took place and ensuring them in the show's favoritism toward a specific list of characters.

Though there were many instances where such a mistake could have slipped by, when the story involves whitewashing some of the characters who clearly did a lot of wrong, it couldn't. Unfortunately for the viewers, being called out by the attentive fans rarely works on the production.

With all the behind-the-scenes changes of who's in charge, the writers' room is already a mess, and it only gets worse with each passing week. However, if you are still interested in seeing where the residents of Port Charles will end up next week, be sure to tune in to General Hospital Monday through Friday on ABC.
