Surely, there was no way a Martell would fall for a Lannister, right?.. Wrong! As Pedro Pascal revealed, he had a major crush on one of Game of Thrones’ most charming actresses.

Game of Thrones did not have any classic Romeo and Juliet story — at least, not an on-screen one, because we never saw Jon Snow’s actual parents. Sansa and Joffrey’s questionable “love story” started kind of like that, but as we know, its future was far from the Shakespearean interpretation of what true love means.

Surely, Westeros is a brutal and unforgiving place, and it almost seems like only Ned Stark’s kids are able to even think about true love in that climate. Robb Stark tried to go for his feelings and dreams and we all know where it took him… So yeah, there aren’t exactly many Montague and Capulets running around King’s Landing.

However, while the characters in this show are mostly toughened and broken by the harsh reality of their world, it doesn’t mean that their actors are the same. Jon Snow and Ygritte actors, for one, repeated their on-screen love story behind the scenes, too, as Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie are a happily married couple now.

Pedro Pascal, on the other hand, almost followed the Romeo and Juliet scenario: while in Game of Thrones, House Martell was by no means a friend of House Lannister, the Oberin actor developed a major crush on Lena Headey, the actress who played Cersei Lannister! Pascal revealed it during a Q&A session on Reddit.

“Lena is one of my favorite people. She is so funny and so smart, such a good person, a good friend, and a good mother… I think everyone on that set and anyone who comes in contact with her develops an instant crush. Talk about male or female, you’re going to get a crush on her easily,” the actor shared during the session.

Westeros politics aside, who can really blame Pascal for falling for Lena Headey? It only makes sense that such a talented and charming woman would attract those around her like moths to the flame… We were this close to making a joke about the Lannister siblings right about now, so we hope you’d appreciate the iron will it took to avoid it.
