David Benioff believes himself that this moment was the show’s peak before its next seasons wrecked it.

Summary:

  • Game of Thrones ’ showrunner David Benioff, who now also runs the new Netflix hit 3 Body Problem, has revealed one particular death scene in Game of Thrones that made him feel proud.
  • Benioff remembered shooting that scene which also made an epic appearance for Sophie Turner’s character.
  • The showrunner then admitted that writing and then filming this scene made him feel like he could die happy after it.

The Game of Thrones showrunner who is now also in charge of Netflix's latest hit series 3 Body Problem has recently discussed one of his favorite moments of the epic show, the last season of which came out back in 2019. As it turned out, the scene concerns one of the series' most anticipated deaths and the role of Sophie Turner’s character in it.

Benioff’s revelation followed after the Happy Sad Confused podcast’s host asked him and his 3 Body Problem’s co-writers to bring up the most memorable death scenes that they ever got to write.

The showrunner first mentioned Joffrey Baratheon’s poisonous end in season 4, but then came up with an even more unforgettable death scene that also involved Sansa Stark played by Sophie Turner.

As one of the sixth season’s episodes show Ramsay Bolton’s end, it also highlights Sansa’s peak moment as she manages to finally deliver her revenge towards the former.

Ramsay finds his death in his own hounds’ fangs, despite his firm beliefs that the creatures will be loyal to him till the very end, right after Sansa observes that the hounds haven’t been fed for a week.

As the latter ones keep tearing their master to pieces, the viewer sees Sansa walk away with a smile of satisfaction on her face.

As David Benioff admitted while talking on the podcast, the fact that they managed to show mostly Sansa’s feelings about Ramsay’s death without actually showing his end in detail felt indeed epic after Sophie Turner “nailed it on the seventh or eighth time”.

The showrunner added that he’d felt like he could then die happy after the phenomenal scene he wrote was wrapped.
