And we thought it was a comedy show.

Friends were on everyone's TV screens starting 1994 up to 2004. With 10 seasons consisting of 236 episodes following the lives of 6 friends living in Manhattan.

Of course, being very relatable for young Americans in their 20s and 30s, the show quickly gained success and became a prime example of a comedy for many.

However, it's not the jokes only that got the audience's heart, the drama aspect of it was always great too.

The characters have faced all the same issues all the viewers faced daily: family feuds, relationship issues, getting and losing jobs, and mental struggles.

Even though there were plenty of heartbreaking moments, there was never a real public enemy figure for the fans… or was there?

"Friends kind of has multiple small villains that act as the villain for an episode, or sometimes a few episodes," Redditor JW162000 pointed up, naming a whole bunch of characters who could easily be named villains for the particular situations they were involved in.

Paolo, Raquela, Amy, Steve, and Barry, just to name a few.

One specific character that came to the minds of too many people at once and ended up on top of the discussion with the most votes was Ursula Buffay.

Being a twin sister of Phoebe Buffay, both portrayed by Lisa Kudrow, she was immediately introduced to be a less pleasant version of her sister who wanted nothing to do with her.

Although the decision to bring this character in was purely based on the interest to crossover Friends with Mad About You, her influence was much larger than it seems.

Appearing only in 8 episodes, Ursula made quite an impression on the viewers as well as her on-screen sister. Starting from their very childhood, Ursula was bullying her sister relentlessly and then continued to bring her ways into adulthood.

As unfortunate as it is, this type of family relationship found a lot of response in viewers' hearts, hence why Ursula could easily be named The Villain of the show.

You can rewatch the show and judge the villains of it yourself by streaming it on HBO Max or fuboTV.
