Fast & Furious 11 Gets Exciting Update From Vin Diesel After Delay News
Is Fast 11 finally ready to roll the cameras despite Tyrese’s previous claims?
Vin Diesel ’s iconic Fast & Furious movie series is as much a meme at this point as it’s one of the most lucrative franchises in the world. After introducing Jason Momoa’s new villain Dante Reyes in Fast X, Diesel is looking to finish his story in Fast 11 — which is also supposed to be the grand finale of the entire F&F franchise.
But as we all know, the Hollywood strikes of 2023 seriously altered many production schedules, and Fast 11 was among them… Or was it?
Tyrese Revealed Huge Fast 11 Delays
Tyrese Gibson, one of the lead F&F stars, addressed the issue earlier this month. According to the star actor, Fast 11 got seriously stalled by the strikes, with its pre-production only vaguely nearing completion in May 2024. Specifically, the script was delayed by many months due to the writer’s strike which blocked progress for everything else, consequently.
“I'm hearing that we're going to get it going right in 2025, right at the top of the year. I think right now, the pressure is to elevate the movie and take the film to some other levels,” Tyrese said then.
But the actor didn’t only come bearing bad news: he also claimed that Fast 11 would finally “get back to more of the street racing and get away from being in outer space,” which is something OG fans of the franchise have long been anticipating. Tyrese’s update brought hope to those of us who prefer something more… Grounded.
Fast 11 May Be Already Good to Go
But while Tyrese expected the final Fast & Furious installment to begin production in early 2025, he might have been off by half a year. Recently, the franchise’s godfather Vin Diesel took to his Instagram to share an enigmatic post in his signature style.
“To be back on the track training… Where we filmed our emotional flashbacks in 2019… Surreal. Grateful and blessed,” Diesel wrote under a picture of him and his car on a familiar track.
If Tyrese was right, then Vin Diesel showed up for training several months earlier — and realistically, if he was just driving for fun, he wouldn’t have needed to go to that particular track. This post alone inspires hope that perhaps, Fast & Furious got its bearings after the strikes faster (and more furiously?..) than expected, and either the cameras are ready to roll or at least, they’ll get around to that sooner than 2025.
