Really, was it as bad as we remember?

A crime thriller is always a good idea when you are looking for something entertaining. What’s there not to like? But apparently, an investigation drama can equally turn you into a fan of the genre but also make you wish to forget everything you’ve seen. And sometimes shows manage to do both…

The best example is Reacher, a crime thriller developed for Prime Video by Nick Santora. The series premiered in 2022 and there was no one who hated it. Reacher is based on Lee Child’s books, with the first season coming from the novel Killing Floor.

At the center of the story is the main character Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson. Reacher is a retired military police officer who is framed for a murder he didn't commit and realizes right away that the world he has to live in is a dirty and corrupt one. So he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands and bring justice to Margrave, Georgia.

The second season of the show was released at the end of 2024 and in the middle of the first new episode the fans noticed something different. In the new chapter he reunites with his old buddies from the unit, and together they want to investigate the murder of one of the guys from the defunct MP unit.

Is Reacher Season 2 Worth Watching?

But many fans believe the series became unwatchable and there were many reasons for that. During the first season, it's safe to say that the audience fell in love with Reacher's character: strong, intelligent, literally a one-man army.

But in season 2, his behavior and personality changed and he became just the muscle of the group. That's a huge downgrade...

Add bad CGI and absurdly bad fight scenes and you have a show that makes you want to wash your eyes. And needless to say all the new storylines were boring and even creepy.

“It feels like it was written by a duo of a 54 year old self partnered wine admiring lady with 3 cats and an 8 year old boy who plays cod and minecraft 18 hours a day. Whole thing is just a stinking pile of cliches and terrible acting. Rip Reacher,” Redditor Poopchurn said.

Well, we already know that season 3 of the show is in the making, so there’s just one thing we want to tell the writers: make Reacher great again!

Reacher is available to stream on Prime Video.
