Ezra Miller-Led 'The Flash' Does Surprisingly Great in Test Scores
Who could have thought, huh?
It looks like the Ezra Miller controversy doesn't affect the results shown by 'The Flash ' – a movie that could become one of the DCEU's best if it wasn't for the drama around its titular actor.
According to World of Reel, new Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav remains confident in 'The Flash' even after all the repercussions it has already caused – a year before its premiere. What boosts his confidence is the fact that 'The Flash' appears to be doing remarkably well in test screenings. Citing insider sources, World of Reel says 'The Flash' has earned the highest test-score ratings in DCEU history.
If that is the case, the push by Warner Bros. to save the movie from being shelved becomes even more understandable. With Ezra Miller earlier issuing an apology about his behavior and pledging to seek medical help with regard to his mental health issues, many fans have concluded that Warner Bros. has decided to go for an "Ezra apologizes and we promote the movie anyway" scenario.
Here's What 'The Flash' Fans Really Think About Ezra Miller's Apology
After all, the shelving has remained the least likable scenario for 'The Flash' – even though Miller is currently accused of harassment, kidnapping and grooming of a minor, it would seem that the movie is, first of all, already way too expensive to be ditched, and secondly… actually quite good.
The public opinion on the Flash blockbuster has been divided: while some people demand that the movie be stricken down, others argue that the work and the money funneled into the project cannot be ditched just because of the Ezra Miller controversy.
Miller themselves seems to be on board with taking responsibility, though.
"I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life," they said in an official statement.
Currently, 'The Flash' is slated for a June 23, 2023 release. All things considered, it looks like the premiere will happen after all.
