Ezra Miller Breaks Silence on Their Behavior, And The Internet Goes Crazy
After weeks of tensions and controversy, 'The Flash' titular star is finally speaking out in what looks like a desperate attempt by Warner Bros. to save the movie.
This is happening: accused of harassment, kidnapping, grooming, and many other unsettling things, Ezra Miller has revealed that they are seeking treatment for "complex mental health issues" in an exclusive statement to Variety.
"Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment," Miller says, according to his representative. "I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life."
The disgraced actor, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, has recently been in hot water due to several accusations ranging from felony burglary to grooming a minor. With the controversy stretching into several weeks and being scrutinized by social media, a storm has started to brew upon 'The Flash ' – the Warner Bros. blockbuster that Miller leads.
As the scandal was obviously not going anywhere, reports emerged that Warner Bros. is considering several scenarios for 'The Flash' – starting from Miller opening up about his issues and finishing with the possibility of the movie getting shelved. Now that the actor has spoken out, it seems that the studio is on a mission with scenario one.
However, it doesn't look like the formal statement is enough for outraged fans.

Many people believe that Miller only apologized because the studio pressured him to do it so that the expensive movie can be released and not shelved like 'Batgirl'. With 'The Flash', striking down the entire movie would be a lot more difficult due to the costs and the importance of the film for the development of the DCEU.

While 'Batgirl' was written off, the fan sentiment currently hints that many people are planning to boycott 'The Flash' even if it does land a release and a promotional campaign. With the movie's star having so much legal troubles in their portfolio, fans even compare them to Joker or other DCEU villains – even though they portray a hero in the film.
Currently, 'The Flash' is slated for a June 2023 release – in theory, anything could happen until the premiere date comes. As of now, the scandal is far from being resolved.
