Emilia Clarke Says Marvel's Secret Invasion Was Her Best Filming Experience
While the Mother of Dragons has been a part of different movies, she decidedly named Marvel's Secret Invasion the "safest and happiest" set she'd been on.
Emilia Clarke became world-famous after her brilliant performance throughout all of the Game of Thrones seasons where she played one of the central characters, Daenerys Targaryen.
Ever since the end of GoT, the actress was popular enough to pick her roles, and she seemingly wanted to become a part of the biggest franchises possible.
After Game of Thrones, Emilia first joined Terminator, then Star Wars... At that point, it was only a matter of time, really, before Clarke would've joined a major superhero franchise — which she did.
The actress is starring in Secret Invasion, Marvel's new (and rather grim) series revolving around the Skrull invasion and the attempts to stop it.
Speaking of Skrulls, it's exactly who Clarke is in the show: her character is the daughter of Talos, G'iah — admittedly, one of the central characters on the Skrull side.
Mother of Dragons is invading someone else's territory once again, but we don't think anyone's really surprised by now.
As for why she decided to join a Marvel project in the first place, Emilia gave perhaps the most honest answer ever.
The actress claimed that she hadn't spent an extra second thinking about it after she'd learned that the show stars titans like Samuel L. Jackson and Morgan Freeman.
For her, it was a no-brainer to grab the chance to work with these living legends.
This totally worked out in Emilia's favor, too: according to the actress, the set of Secret Invasion was absolutely the best one out of every other project she'd ever worked on...
Coming from Clarke, it's a big testament since she's never been the one to sugarcoat any problems on her previous projects' sets.
"It was the warmest, most gorgeous, safe, lovely, happy, playful set I've ever been on. <...>You've just gone to the top of the tree. You're there. And then you find everyone who's there is just having a really good time," shared Emilia.
After seeing a metric ton of blooper clips from Clarke's time in Game of Thrones, we can only imagine how much fun she's had on the set of Secret Invasion if it was so much better than GoT.
While we might never get the SI's bloopers, it's still great to know that the show's actors were having a blast filming it.
