Perhaps this decision should have been made a few episodes ago.

Summary

  • There aren't many episodes left until the end of DWTC Season 32
  • However, there is still one controversial couple left on the show, Harry and Rylee
  • Their last performance was no better than the previous ones
  • Fans are demanding that they be eliminated as soon as possible

Now in its 32nd season, ABC's Dancing with the Stars continues to thrill fans with high-octane action, colorful music and dance routines, as well as incredible intrigue that keeps us on the edge of our seats. With each episode, fewer celebrity couples remain on the show, and more contestants must do their best to win the hearts of the judges and fans in the next episode. And while some are able to do this consistently, earning the highest scores each week, others rely on luck and fan support to stay afloat. But even the most loyal fans have their limits!

So far, Too Hot to Handle alum Harry Jowsey and his partner Rylee Arnold, who is making her first appearance on the show as a pro dancer, continue to disappoint and leave viewers wondering how they are still not eliminated. In the last Halloween episode, the couple appeared in alien costumes. But the true alien was Harry, who infuriated viewers with his aloofness, lack of movement and sense of rhythm.

Last Week's Performance

For the second episode in a row, Harry and Rylee remain at the bottom with the lowest scores. Unlike Harry, Rylee is a good dancer, her moves are precise and dynamic, but apparently her lack of mentoring experience doesn't help her partner's improvement. In each episode, he pretty much stands by for the entire performance, only occasionally lifting Rilee. Week 5's choice of the Contemporary style, which is usually highly scored on the show, didn't help either.

However, for the Monster Night episode on October 31, the couple opted for Argentine Tango, which is not the easiest of dances, but one whose moves can be learned in a relatively short amount of time. To a cover of Blinding Lights by District 78, Harry and Rylee emerged from a cornfield dressed as aliens while a flying saucer hovered above them.

With all the backlash the couple has received over the course of this season, Riley's sister, Lindsay Arnold, a DWTS veteran and Season 25 winner, volunteered to help them out. Unfortunately, even that wasn't enough.

Fans are Tired

Everything seemed to go well during the first lift, and it looked like Harry had really done his homework. But after a moment, everything went back to normal: only Rylee was doing the dance, while her partner stood around, occasionally moving his legs and arms awkwardly, without losing the look of stiffness on his face.

In this episode, actress Niecy Nash-Betts joined the judges and was quite lenient with the contestants. However, this didn't help the couple score high: they received 28 points from the judges, which was the lowest one. However, they were not eliminated!

Those who got the boot on this episode were Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater, despite earning 33 points. Fans have long felt that the judges were unfair and maybe even biased against Mauricio, as he really listened to their comments and improved his moves with each episode. This was not the case with Harry, which led to even his fans begging for his elimination.

Does the Couple Deserve the Hate?

But are they really that bad and deserve to be eliminated as soon as possible? The judges noticed that Harry was getting better. Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli praised his musicality, discipline and progress in the right direction.

The fans, however, don't think anything can change and that the decision to choose Harry over Mauricio and even the previously eliminated Mira Sorvino was the right one. Well, we'll see in the next episode, which will be released today, November 7.

Is there any point in keeping Harry and Riley around?
