Disney Reveals Plot Details For Spooky 'Haunted Mansion'
Looks like Disney is ready to dive into some spooky territory, with new details for the upcoming 'Haunted Mansion' revealed.
First of all, check out this incredible cast – Rosario Dawson, Tiffany Haddish, LaKeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito and Owen Wilson – clearly indicating that the major studio is ready to bring in big guns to ensure the success of its upcoming film.
The flick will be a screen adaptation of Disney World's iconic attraction, which puts unsuspecting visitors through some mildly scary experience. Not much was known about the film, except for the cast and Justin Simien (creator of the brilliant 'Dear White People') being the director, but Disney just revealed first plot details.
The film will tell the story of a single mother (Dawson) and her son (Chase Dillon) who settle in a surprisingly cheap mansion in New Orleans. Of course, it's haunted, so the worried family turns to professionals to solve their paranormal problems. They will be assisted by an exorcism priest (Wilson), a paranormal expert (Stanfield), a psychic (Haddish) and a mysterious historian (DeVito). It looks like both the family and the audience of the film are in for a pretty wild ride!
The upcoming Disney movie will be the second film adaptation of this particular attraction, the first being the fan-favorite 2003 'Haunted Mansion' starring Eddie Murphy. Fans are clamoring for their favorite comedian to return in the new film, hoping that Murphy will at least appear in a cameo role.
'Haunted Mansion' hits theatres on March 10, 2023.
