Devastating Reason Why the Media Kept Labeling Jennifer Aniston 'Selfish'
Jennifer Aniston received her unfair share of hate from the media back in the day, but the real reason behind those accusations was nothing short of heartbreaking.
On Hollywood’s skyline, Jennifer Aniston has been one of the brightest stars for many years. After the phenomenally popular sitcom Friends launched her to international stardom, Aniston kept advancing her acting career and today, she’s one of the most recognizable and beloved actresses in the world, which is well-deserved.
What wasn’t well-deserved, though, was all the hate Aniston was receiving back in the day. At some point in her life, the actress became a target of all the various crooked media that tried to paint her as a terrible person. Most of all, Jennifer Aniston was accused of being a selfish, heartless, and career-centered person.
In reality, the actress was going through an incredibly challenging period of life back then. While the media was trying to make her look like a villain, Jennifer Aniston was entirely focused on having to have kids. She wasn’t having any luck, and this fact had the actress immensely stressed and frustrated.
“I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road. All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. <...> So here I am today. The ship has sailed,” wistfully shared Aniston.
At the same time as she was having her heart broken over and over again with each attempt, the media kept blaming the actress for…not having kids! Jennifer Aniston was constantly labeled as selfish and career-centered, and for no good reason.
“[They were saying that] I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point,” explained the actress.
Jennifer Aniston has been going through hell back in the day, and the media was not making it any easier on her. However, now, the actress is almost grateful for that period of her life. It allowed her to transform from that “fearful and nervous” person to the proud woman who today, recalling those events, calmly says: “I don’t f*cking care. I have zero regrets.”
