Controversial 2017 Horror Is Just 2 Steps Away From #1 on Netflix US Top

Horror genre is gaining its momentum now that the streaming services’ users are more into terrifying stories, and some old movies are pretty lucky to join the trend right now.

Netflix viewers have always been unpredictable regarding their constantly changing preferences, and this week marks yet another proof of it as a horror film from 7 years ago has suddenly entered the streaming’s top 10 chart.

According to the recent data that FlixPatrol shares, a thrilling 2017 movie Jigsaw is currently sitting at the third place in Netflix’s US top chart.

Released as a part of the Saw movie series, Jigsaw follows a sudden resurrection of John Kramer aka Jigsaw Killer who has been dead for the past decade, yet the chain of horrifying events that take place in the city leads the police to the only possible suspect who turns out to be a deceased man.

Meanwhile, a group of people are being tortured after waking up in a weird barn and are eventually forced to play deadly games that leave them almost zero chances to survive.

Upon its release back in 2017, Jigsaw ended up showing quite controversial results of its theatrical performance. The movie became a box office hit grossing $104 million against the initial budget of only $10 million, but still was completely crushed by the critics.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Jigsaw holds a weird combination of scores having landed 33% and 88% from professionals and the audience respectively, with many critics stating that the film never made it to the same level as its predecessors did.

However, Jigsaw is seemingly disproving all of its haters’ harsh words as the movie is getting a second life thanks to Netflix’s users years after its initial release.
