No show has given their viewers such a heart attack for years.

Nothing says "television" like a cliffhanger. If you watch any show, chances are you've been hit by one in the season finale, leaving you wondering what's going to happen after the break.

The trick to leaving the audience wanting more is simple, but not every production team is able to do their cliffhangers well.

This one, released seven years ago by The Walking Dead at the end of season 6, has caused a lot of controversies.

Going back to the time of the release of the season 6 finale, it divided fans into two camps.

One side, although they thought it was absolute torture, enjoyed the tension of the scene and could not wait to see what season 7 would bring.

The other side disagreed, saying that the introduction of Negan's character was way too short to be cut off by the cliffhanger, and that the show just wanted to get over the shock of Glenn's death.

Although The Walking Dead's ratings began to decline in season 7, it's hard to blame the cliffhanger for that. If anything, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's incredible performance kept people talking about the show even during the hiatus.

Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe was mercilessly memed and took over the Internet, and fan discussions were filled with every kind of theory imaginable.

Looking back on the scene today, it's still as scary as it was 7 years ago.

Whether you know the outcome or not, another horror execution scene shot and directed as well as this one in the season 6 finale would always make you feel uncomfortable.

Judging by the comments fans are leaving on YouTube under the video of the finale, it seems everyone has forgotten the controversy and let themselves enjoy the raw emotions of this horrifying scene.

If you want to go through it all again and give The Walking Dead a full rewatch, you can do so by streaming all 11 seasons of the show on AMC Plus and Netflix.
