Get ready for the most epic battle in The Boys’ history: Billy Butcher vs. his principles.

The whole premise of both the show and the comic books on which it is based suggests that superheroes would not be these happy and helpful people who pop up when needed to save the day from every kind of invasion.

In fact, superheroes co-opted by corporations could be just as dangerous as any other threat to humanity.

And Billy Butcher, who lost his wife to the Supers, knows this harsh truth better than anyone.

At the beginning of The Boys, we were all led to believe that Billy Butcher was the main protagonist of the series, and Homelander, the leader of the superhero team The Seven, was the main antagonist.

However, season after season, viewers were slowly introduced to more and more violence from both sides, leaving little room for true "good guys" to exist.

There are already a lot of fan theories floating around on social media about how Billy Butcher's story will end. No one can say for sure what will happen, but everyone is pretty sure about his death.

What everyone also seems to be very sure of is that he won't go down without a fight, and that's where he'll have to make what may be the hardest decision of his life.

As we all know by now, Billy's anger and desire for revenge were the factors that led him to take Temp V, a serum that gives a normal person superpowers for about 24 hours.

Now, suffering from various tumors, he must decide whether to abandon his own principles and take the original serum, Compound V, or let humanity win and bring death upon himself.

Although it would be very tempting for him to just take Compound V, many fans believe that his moral standards have become higher than that. Thanks to all the character development in seasons 1 through 3, there may actually be a chance for Billy Butcher to leave as a human...but would that mean the Homelander has won?

Whether Billy Butcher's will is strong enough to not give in and become one of the Sups himself, we'll have to wait and see. There's no official release date for The Boys season 4 yet, so keep an eye out for more news and updates!
