Arnold Schwarzenegger's Best Ever Period Action Movie Just Dropped on Netflix
You still haven’t seen Schwarzenegger fighting a cartel? Now’s your chance!
They don’t make anything like those classic action movies from the end of the 20th century anymore, do they?
Thankfully, the legendary actors are still around and have countless fans — which means that every once in a while, they do what they do best: pack up their guns, put on their coolest hats, and make the most classic shoot-the-bad guys action movie you’ve seen since 1996. And you’ll love it!
Schwarzenegger Returned with a Banger
Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the biggest action movie stars ever, and he rarely missed. In 2013, long after his golden age was seemingly over, he came back with another action banger — a decade after his previous big action role in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines! And of course, he only returned to punish the bad guys.
In The Last Stand, Arnold Schwarzenegger portrays a long-retired LAPD star cop who moved into a small town on the Mexican border after getting tired of the big city.
But even as a Sheriff in a remote place, he can’t get any rest: when the leader of a powerful drug cartel escapes from custody and speeds to Mexico, it’s only the former supercop, and his inexperienced deputies who can stop the criminal’s escape.
The Last Stand Finally Joins Netflix
All in all, The Last Stand is the most classic Arnold Schwarzenegger movie you can imagine. It doesn’t necessarily bring anything new to the table, but if you’re a fan of the good old, you’re going to love it.
This is pure entertainment like it used to be: guns, cars, high stakes, innocent lives on the line, the clash against the good and the evil, and the perpetual badassery of Schwarzenegger’s performance.
On Rotten Tomatoes, The Last Stand has a 61% Critic Score typical for the genre, and the movie’s solid 6.3/10 IMDb score supports it.
A little bit over a decade since its release, The Last Stand finally joined Netflix — but you can also watch it on Hulu and Prime Video. This is truly a gift for all the Schwarzenegger fans out there.
