It seems that the deep and complex characters that the show has been praised for will be developed even further.

The first season of the Star Wars: Andor TV series gave fans some of the most complex and developed characters in the entire franchise, along with a compelling story and a grounded, dark atmosphere rarely seen in Star Wars.

All of this has earned the series high praise from critics and fans alike, making the anticipation for the next and final season almost unbearable.

And it could be even more exciting, raising the stakes and showing us even more character growth, according to a recent interview with three of the show's actors.

Speaking on a Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Kyle Soller (Syril Karn), Denise Gough (Dedra Meero) and Adria Arjona (Bix Caleen) revealed that fans will see "different versions" of their characters throughout the second season.

This is due to the fact that season 2 picks up one year after the first and will directly tie into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), so there will be some time jumps between episodes.

For example, regarding her character Bix, Adria Arjona said that there will be about three variations of her as she recovers from the torture she endured in season 1, and that "there's an anger that she hopes builds in Bix."

As for Kyle Soller's Syril, he is on his own journey to rise to the top of the Bureau of Standards, and his rescue of Dedra during the uprising on Ferrix will definitely play a big part.

Speaking of Dedra, not much was revealed about her potential fate, but Denise Gough admitted that she was surprised by the popularity of her character, which she finds "inspiring and unnerving."

Such intriguing revelations only heightened fans' anticipation for next season and made the fact that it will be the show's finale even more bitter.

For now, though, it looks like it will be just as good as the previous one, and maybe even better, further solidifying Andor as one of the greatest Star Wars projects ever made.

Star Wars: Andor season 2 is expected sometime in August 2024.
