All 9 New Disney Movies Confirmed to Release in 2025
Even more live-action adaptations and sequels.
The next few years promise to be incredibly fruitful for Disney, with no shortage of high-profile releases already in the pipeline. Let's take a look at all the currently known films scheduled for release in 2025.
9. Captain America: Brave New World
Release Date: February 14, 2025
Exactly one year from now, the penultimate movie of the tired Phase 5 MCU will hit the big screens, a new Captain America, with Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson taking over the role. The movie will continue the story of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and will also tie in with The Incredible Hulk (yes, the one with Edward Norton that came out in 2008).
8. Snow White
Release Date: March 21, 2025
Disney never stops milking money from the legendary IPs created in the past. And one of the most controversial ones will be Snow White with Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, given the many rumors surrounding the adaptation, including a reluctance to include seven dwarves in a story inspired by the Brothers Grimm classic.
7. Thunderbolts
Release Date: May 2, 2025
The final Phase 5 film will be Thunderbolts. The movie will feature actors both familiar and new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Sebastian Stan 's Bucky Barnes, David Harbour 's Red Guardian, Florence Pugh 's Yelena Belova and other heroes and villains who must form an unlikely team to save the world.
6. Elio
Release Date: June 13, 2025
Much more promising is Pixar's new project, Elio, created by Coco co-screenwriter Adrian Molina. The plot follows an 11-year-old boy who is destined to become an intergalactic representative of humankind.
5. Moana 2
Release Date: June 27, 2025
While Snow White still seems valid, the decision to make a Moana live-action movie is highly questionable considering the original came out in 2016. It is scheduled for 2025, with Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Maui.
4. The Fantastic Four
Release Date: July 25, 2025
Not all Marvel fans are enthusiastic about the casting for the new iteration of the superhero family story: for example, we're all obsessed with Pedro Pascal, but not everyone is ready to see him as Reed Richards (by the way, we wonder how the MCU will handle the initial Phase 6 motif, since Earth-616's Mr. Fantastic is the ancestor of... Kang the Conqueror), although let's face it, not everyone was ready to see John Krasinski as Richards either. However, there were far fewer doubts about Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm after his heavy metal role in Stranger Things, or Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, given the charmingly chaotic nature of his character in The Bear.
3. Blade
Release Date: November 7, 2025
While the idea of a new Blade movie was initially well received, with Mahershala Ali attached to play the titular role, the development hell has many fearing that the movie will be a Morbius- level failure.
2. Zootopia 2
Release Date: November 26, 2025
The first installment was undeniably excellent and charming, but do we need a Zootopia sequel? Well, Disney thinks we do (after all, they have to compete with Universal Pictures given the huge success of the Despicable Me franchise), and just before Thanksgiving, Zootopia 2 will be released.
1. Avatar 3
Release Date: December 19, 2025
After the colossal commercial success of Avatar: The Way of the Water, James Cameron is set to release a sequel about the struggle of the native tribes of Pandora against the colonial forces of Earth. This time the story will focus on the new Na'vi clan, the Ash People. All in all, it looks like the production won't take another 13 years.
