All 11 New and Returning Programs Coming to The CW For 2024/2025 Season

While many people have joked about the quality of production at The CW, the network has become home to many beloved television series. From Supernatural to The Vampire Diaries to the entirety of the DC Universe shows, everyone fell in love with at least one of them.

Sadly, that era is now over. However, the future still looks bright for The CW's 2024/2025 broadcast season. And even though the majority of scripted series have yet to be renewed, there are plenty of shows on the schedule to get excited about.

Trivial Pursuit (Monday)
Scrabble (Monday)

These two game shows are exactly what you think they are: TV versions of the board games everyone loves and knows. Both Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble are being produced by Hasbro Entertainment, The CW and Lionsgate Alternative Television and are set to debut this fall.

There's no word yet on the shows' set-ups, hosts or exact premiere dates, but keep an eye out if you're interested in finding out more.

WWE NXT (Tuesday)

The show, which has aired for 18 seasons, will now move to The CW. The network is in the process of focusing on sports programming, and WWE NXT, which showcases the wrestlers from the promotion's NXT brand division, is one of the first steps in that direction. The new season is scheduled to premiere in October 2024.

Sullivan’s Crossing (Wednesday )

One of the shows that will be returning to the network is a Canadian hit Sullivan's Crossing. The CW will be airing the second season of the show, which now airs in Canada on the CTV channel. So if you want to see Morgan Kohan and Chad Michael Murray's soapy drama back on your screens, be sure to tune in this fall.

Joan (Wednesday)

If you enjoy the gritty setting of a British crime drama, this show will be perfect as it captures the story of Joan Hannington, a figure known to many in the criminal world of the UK as The Godmother. Starring Sophie Turner, the show will only run for 6 episodes, but is sure to grab your attention from the start.

Superman & Lois (Thursday)

Many people expected Superman & Lois to air its final season earlier this year, but the creators wanted to make sure they did the show justice and took a little more time. As a result, the show has been given its own slot on the 2024/2025 schedule and will premiere this fall. Don't forget to tune in and say goodbye to the beloved characters.

The Librarians: The Next Chapter (Thursday)

The sequel to The Librarians will follow the DC hit on Thursday nights, bringing back guest star Jacob Stone to join a whole new cast of librarians. So if you were once a fan of the iconic series, or just find yourself drawn to time-traveling sci-fi stories, this show will be a perfect choice for you.

Whose Line Is It Anyway? (Friday)

From 1998 to 2007, the improv show bounced from ABC to ABC Family, but then found its way to The CW a few years later and managed to survive the network's rebranding. Whose Line Is It Anyway? will return to the network for its 13th season produced under The CW umbrella and 21st season overall.

Inside the NFL (Friday)

2024/2025 will be the show's second year on The CW, but the premise will remain the same. As self-explanatory as it can be, Inside the NFL offers highlights from the past week's games as captured by NFL Films. It also features commentary and analysis from the hosts, as well as occasional interviews.

CW Sports Saturday (Saturday)

Not much is known about this part of the network other than it will feature Pac-12 college football and the NASCAR Xfinity Series. This is another nod to sports and a way to attract more adult demographics to the network.

The CW Sunday Movie Night (Sunday)

If there's one thing that hasn't changed, and probably won't for many years to come, it's The CW's tradition of Sunday Movie Nights. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., you can expect nothing but great movies, from the underrated gems to the masterpieces that never get old. Rebranding or not, that anchor of stability is very comforting.
