AI Brings Game of Thrones to the 80s in Mind-Blowing Remake
It might also make you wish the HBO show had been filmed a lot sooner.
Artificial intelligence and deep fakes are capable of delivering new surprises even when we think we have seen everything. Because of AI, some impossible scenarios can come to life, with some characters "played" by actors who could never do it in real life, or some fictional universes "traveling" back in time.
This is what happened to the HBO megahit Game of Thrones after it was "handled" by YouTuber DeusVultAI, who turns modern projects into 80s dark fantasy movies.

Although this "new" Game of Thrones looks far less expensive and authentic than its modern-day alter ego, fans seem to enjoy the AI view of the universe even more than the HBO version. According to social media users, the costumes in the AI version seem "more book accurate" and the aesthetics look just "perfect."
"I'd watch the hell out of this in the 80's, then I'd rewatch it today and dread how Hollywood would remake it or do a Disney+ series," YouTuber Sergio Vale da Serra said in the comments.
Some people have wished that AI had been in charge of Game of Thrones all along, especially when it comes to the series' controversial season 8 finale. There are some tweaks to the AI version of Game of Thrones, like everyone having square jaws and looking a little older than they should, but people still seem to love it even more than what HBO did. Many noted that the video made them feel nostalgic for something that had never even been filmed.
Game of Thrones premiered on HBO in 2011 and ended in 2019 after eight seasons and 73 episodes.
