After the success of Evan Peters-led Dahmer series, Ryan Murphy is ready to present a new murder story in the upcoming Monster season 2.

Netflix has renewed Ryan Murphy's crime anthology series for at least one more season, saying it wants to tell the world more stories that have "impacted society."

The second season will revolve around Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were convicted of murdering their parents Jose and Kitty Menendez at their Beverly Hills mansion in 1989.

Following the announcement Netflix made with a teaser, the title for the upcoming story will be pluralized and bear the name Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

In the teaser, we hear a real 911 call from Lyle Menendez claiming to have found his parents dead, when in fact he and his brother were the ones who committed the crime.

The trial was highly publicized and captivated audiences across the country as the brothers claimed they acted in self-defense after years of abuse at the hands of their parents.

Despite the fact of how brutal the murder was, a lot of people felt sympathy for the brothers as many disturbing facts came out during the trial.

Menendez brothers claimed that since their childhood they had been mentally, physically, and sexually abused by both of their parents, and the killing of their parents was out of fear for their own lives.

The fact that their father, Erik Menendez, had been molesting the boys since their young age was proved by a lot of evidence during the trial.

However, it didn't save the brothers from their second trial's verdict in 1996 which sent them both to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

While Lyle and Erik have been in prison for almost 30 years, a lot of people are still demanding retrial and justice for them, Menendez brothers are believed to be the only victims of the case.

However, even though the second season of Netflix's Monster is likely to receive backlash for glorifying killers (once again), the idea of showing the world the true reasons behind the infamous monstrousness seems to be valid.

Who knows, maybe this story will finally reveal the true faces of the real monsters.
