Attention sci-fi lovers: don’t let this gem remain history!

It's not like HBO is the main sci-fi titles’ creator right now, but the network’s The Leftovers, Avenue 5 and, of course, The Last of Us were indeed gems of the genre. Aside from these series, there was also an animated one that managed to gain a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, although it hasn’t become as recognized as the mentioned titles.

Its plot revolves around the crew of a damaged interstellar ship who are forced to stay on an alien planet named Vesta. It’s rich in picturesque nature and unique creatures, but this beautiful image keeps lots of dangers hidden behind these landscapes.

The survivors decide to separate – just like in a typical horror movie – and all three groups are aimed to make their way back to the spaceship and not to die on Vesta.

Surely, we’re talking about Scavengers Reign, and it appears to be a must-watch not only for fans of well-written science fiction plots, but for those who enjoy such gems of modern adult animation, as Pantheon (2022 - 2023), Blue Eye Samurai (2023 - …) and Amazon Prime’s top-tier Invincible ( 2021 - …).

Overall, the show is really inventive both in its futuristic elements and creature design and in its psychedelic animation that can seem weird for a simple viewer. Still, Max’s decision to cancel it after just one 12-episode season this May caused an uproar in the fandom.

Luckily, Scavengers Reign can still be saved by Netflix, as the platform is going to add it to its catalog and then make a decision about a possible second season on the basis of its success.

It deserves to be successful indeed, as it’s not only creative and unique, but, more than that, surprisingly convincing. It really puts you into the characters, who ended up on a wild planet, and makes you experience all these adventures along with them.

“It is mesmerizing, beautiful and horrifically brutal with great writing, pacing, and has wonderful world building with amazing animation quality,” says Redditor @Arrow_.

Don’t miss this impeccable sci-fi gem, as it’ll be available on Netflix already on May 31.
