The characters were treated unfairly, and their long journeys to the finale were devalued by writers who failed to come up with any good ideas.
Thanks to the fans, we at least have an idea of how good the well thought out finales would have been in reality, and it's a huge shame that the producers didn't even try to reach out to the fans before developing the last seasons, as they would have surely realized how beloved the shows are, forcing the writers to take their job a bit more seriously.
