6 Major New Movies of 2024 Coming to Netflix in March

Waiting for a decent movie can be frustrating at times. So, it’s always nice when new films land on your favourite streaming service.

And Netflix viewers won't have to wait too long for these 6 movies that will be available to stream in March.

1. Spaceman

Available to stream from March 1

Adam Sandler, Carey Mulligan and Kunal Nayyar star in this sci-fi drama based on the novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař. Paul Dano also has a voice role.

Despite a modest upbringing, Jakub Procházka becomes the first Czech cosmonaut. After accepting an invitation for an 8-month mission in space, he leaves his wife behind to explore a cloud of dust and particles called Chopra.

But isolation is a struggle. And when he meets a giant talking spider, he's not sure if it's real or just his mind playing tricks on him.

2. Damsel

Streaming from March 8

This is a movie for fantasy fans with an open mind. Milly Bobby Brown stars as Elodie, a young woman married to a handsome prince in what looks like a fairytale but turns out to be a nightmare.

It's a coming-of-age drama that subverts its genre and is arguably as pro-feminist as Barbie.

3. Cat and Dog

Streaming from March 15

A French comedy adventure film based on the tried-and-tested premise of a couple's journey as they realise they have to work together to solve a problem.

Also listed as Chien et Chat, the film sees a cat and a dog escape from their owners at an airport. Their owners then have to track them down in order to be reunited with their furry friends.

In many ways, it's your typical 'race around the world' type of show, but with the added bonus of pets to make it even cuter.

4. Irish Wish

Available to stream from 15 March

This could be one of the best romantic comedies of the year. Lindsay Lohan stars as Maddie, an introverted book editor who falls for a writer but finds the feeling is not mutual.

When he gets engaged to her best friend, Maddie agrees to travel to Ireland to be her bridesmaid. But just before the wedding, she makes a wish and ends up in an alternate reality where she gets the man. Will the relationship be everything she thought it would be?

It has elements of the supernatural, but at heart it's a classic tale of unrequited love and chasing after the romantic partner who looks like the one who got away.

5. Shirley

Streaming from 22 March

As the world prepares for the upcoming US election, which is likely to feature two white male presidential candidates, this film follows the true story of Shirley Chisholm, the first black female congresswoman.

The story focuses on her struggles, successes and attempt to run for president in 1972. Academy Award-winning actress Regina King brings Shirley to life. It's a riveting story of one woman's fight against a system that didn't think she was ready.

6. The Beautiful Game

Available to stream from 29 March

Bill Nighy stars as Mal, the manager of England's Homeless World Cup team. As he prepares his squad to travel to Rome to compete for the trophy, he gives a young striker, Vinny, played by Michael Ward (Top Boy), an ultimatum.

If Vinny wants to make the plane, he must agree to turn his back on his old ways and commit to trying to turn his life around.
