You could make a whole special episode just out of the intros.

Unlike most other TV shows, Supernatural was so dedicated to making each season stand out to the fans that they changed the intros. While the concept of the show's title appearing over a very eerie sound stayed the same, the color scheme and special effects around it changed.

Of course, after many re-watches, Supernatural fans on the r/Supernatural subreddit have weighed in on which intro is the best and which ones aren't as good as they could have been.

Here's how they ranked the top 5.

5. Fan Fiction Intro

What could be better than some of the most iconic intros combined into one? Well, no matter how strong the nostalgic feelings are for some of the original season's intros, the one from Fan Fiction (S10E5) is mentioned far too often in fan discussions to not include it.

4. Season 5

With the perfectly added sound of a heartbeat and blood in the background, season 5's intro has a lot in common with many openings of horror movies or video games in the same genre. Sometimes, going classic and simple is all you need to create a masterpiece.

3. Season 8

Many fans believe that the middle of the series has the best intros, because that's when the creators started to have fun and the graphics were finally up to par. Season 8's intro is perfectly cryptic and lacks the flashing effects that often made fans nauseous in earlier years of the series’ run.

2. Metatron Intro

This one deserves to be called a classic, just because of how fun it was to see it come right after an unsettling season 9. It also made perfect sense for the episode it was used in, Meta Fiction (S9E18), and gave the audience an immediate idea of what to expect.

1. Season 9

The original opening of season 9, however, takes a strong lead as a fan favorite. The angel wings burning in the background of the show's title only added to the intrigue and served as an easter egg of sorts as viewers watched the events of the episodes unfold.
