Ari Aster never disappoints when it comes to сreating "you are about to throw up" moments.

The king of modern horrors, Ari Aster, managed to give us too many movie scenes that keep us awake at night.

Here are the top 5 most shocking ones, so maybe don't read further if you're enjoying your lunch right now.

5. Peter Breaks His Nose (Hereditary)

In this one scene, we see Alex Wolff's character, Peter Graham, sitting behind his desk in class when suddenly the demon begins to possess him.

Peter's face is distorted, his body is not under his own control, and the whole picture looks like he is a puppet in the hands of something invisible.

It ends with him slamming his face on the desk, breaking his nose, screaming, and choking with fear. The scene is thrilling to watch, especially when you find out that Alex really hurt himself during the filming and got a gnarly physical injury.

Thank God Ari Aster didn't let the actor sacrifice his own face when Alex came to him with this idea.

4. Isaiah's Bedroom Scene (The Strange Thing About the Johnsons)

Ari decided not to wait and disgustingly surprised us at the beginning of the movie (like he did with an opening scene in Midsommer).

The film begins with Isaiah, a young boy who is portrayed by Carlon Jeffery, lying in his bed and doing this thing that the boys of his age practice on a daily basis.

However, his father storms into his room and interrupts the action. Yeah, the scene is embarrassing and the tension is awkward, but the plot twist is just much more disgusting.

As the father leaves we see the photo that Isaiah used to satisfy himself — the same man that went into the kid's room a minute ago, his own father. Even Game Of Thrones didn't give us such an ick family moment.

3. Dani Smiles As The Temple Burns (Midsommar)

The final powerful scene that literally gave us chills.

For the first time we see Dani truly happy as she stands in her floral goddess cult costume and watches her still-alive boyfriend burn alongside the dead friends she came with.

The scene symbolizes the beginning of a new life for Dani, and it's really good to see her no longer haunted by the horrors of her past, but she should have chosen a nicer family for herself.

2. Jumping Off the Cliff (Midsommar)

We were screaming and punching the air when we saw this scene for the first time.

One of the most important parts of the nonsensical rituals of the cultists is to end their own lives when the time comes — and it happens in the most disgusting and cruel way.

Dani and her friends end up in terror when they see a woman jumping off the cliff and smashing her face into a rock.

She was lucky to die instantly because her partner wasn't that lucky enough, as he lands on the ground disfigured and broken but still alive.

It's great that he has friends who will always have his back as one of them takes a giant gavel and kills the man right in the face.

The whole scene is a masterpiece because it has a perfect combination of thrilling music, bright colors, horror, and suspense.

1. Charlie Is Decapitated (Hereditary)

When it comes to the most shocking moment in Ari Aster's movies, this one's easily the winner.

Charlie is choking and fighting for her life in the backseat of her brother's car after she got an allergy attack, Peter is speeding to the hospital, a dark road, an intense scene, Charlie gets her head out of the car to catch a breath and boom.

A telephone pole meets Charlie's face, leaving her decapitated and the audience speechless. Peter, in total shock, drives home, leaving his sister's head on the road and her body in the car.

The "cherry" on top of this masterpiece scene is when we see Charlie's head covered in ants on the freeway and that's' the moment that starts the party.
