5 Huge TV Show Cliffhangers We'll Never Learn the Answers to
Cliffhangers are great when they receive a continuation, but when a show gets canceled, they only lead to frustration and unanswered questions.
5. 1899
Mind-bending and mysterious, 1899 rightfully earned its cult following among the fans. Despite the show getting canceled after Season 1, the audience is still actively discussing various theories and revelations about its charming world, but...
The frustrating bit is, 1899's S1 ended with some huge plot twists, and while we're immensely invested in the show, we'll never learn neither the purpose of the simulation nor many other things that were left vague.
4. Agent Carter
This MCU show was better than the majority of other Marvel's small-screen projects by a milestone, and still, it was axed after Season 2. It's a real shame considering how well received the series was, but also for another reason entirely.
We'll never know the identity of the mysterious assailant who shot Jack Thompson and escaped with classified files about Carter. This was supposed to be the start of a whole new arc, and now it's wasted.
3. V
If after the previous two entries you were disappointed by unresolved cliffhangers, how about a show that had to go through this exact experience twice? That's right, both the 1980s and the 2009 versions of V were canceled just before the ultimate revelation was to happen, hence managing to leave its fans frustrated twice.
We seriously doubt there will be a third attempt at reviving V so most likely, we'll never learn whether the Visitors won in the end or the humans turned the tables.
2. Hannibal
The iconic series very unfortunately ended with perhaps the most iconic cliffhanger on this list: first of all, it was an homage to Holmes and Moriarty's waterfall jump, and second of all, it involved an actual cliff. Only the hanger bit was missing.
Season 3 ended with Graham and Lector falling from the cliff toward the unknown, and with that, the series was...canceled. If not for Bedelia's guests, we wouldn't have been left with the annoying "how did they survive" mystery, though.
1. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Look, canceling a show halfway through is bad enough on its own, but canceling a show with Lena Headey is an actual crime. Unlike other TV adaptations, The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a really decent show, but its ratings were not high enough, so it, too, was axed just after Season 2.
The good thing is, Headey and most other characters had ended their arcs by then. The bad thing is, S2's finale started a new one, with John Connor traveling to an alternative version of the future...and we'll never learn how his vacation there worked out.
