Gilmore Girls is the show meant to give its viewers a feeling of warmth and coziness – and that’s not what some scenes have accomplished.

Here are the five worst Gilmore Girls moments that made fans shriek with horror.

5. When Lorelai Cheats on Luke

The words “It’s over. Luke, I slept with Christopher.” are ringing painfully in every fan’s ears whenever that scene comes up. Lorelai and Luke have a fight, and she runs straight into Christopher’s arms? Nope, that’s not what Luke or the audience deserves. That’s a terrible stain on the show’s legacy that will never be forgiven.

4. When Lorelai Ruins Richard’s Wake

Richard’s death is the moment the show gets too real. The funeral itself is a tear-jerker, especially if one remembers that Edward Herrmann, who portrayed Richard Gilmore in the original series, passed away as well. Lorelai’s behavior at her dad’s wake is unacceptable and makes fans want to turn off the episode altogether. Who on Earth starts remembering all the bad times at a person’s wake?

3. When Rory Sleeps with Dean

The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree. Remember how Rory loses her virginity to Dean when he’s basically already married? That’s bad enough, but the fact that she doesn’t regret it or doesn’t even understand that it’s wrong is just baffling to most fans. “He’s not a married guy. He’s Dean, my Dean.” – Rory, just learn to let go, will you?

2. When Rory Gets Pregnant

Little goody-two-shoes admits she is pregnant in the spinoff’s finale, but there is a catch – she doesn’t exactly reveal who the father is (she probably doesn’t even know). How does Rory go from a straight-A student to a woman who has to guess whose baby she is carrying? That’s a completely out-of-character move, and fans hate this storyline.

1. When Lane and Dave Break Up Off-Screen

Gilmore Girls has never cared about Lane and her storylines, and it shows. The way Dave exists the show is proof of that. Dave and Lane are the sweetest couple in the series (their relationship is goals!), even Mrs. Kim approves of Dave (and that’s saying something). The fact that Dave and Lane break up over a petty fight off-screen? Heartbreaking. They should’ve been endgame.
