The owner is arrogant with his guest, even though he is not just another admirer, but a man for whom his wife has left him. Tindle has come with the sole purpose of convincing the writer to give Wyke’s wife a divorce. Andrew doesn't like the idea, but he's willing to agree if the actor will fake a robbery.

This detective made its director, Francois Ozon, world-famous. The cast of the movie consists only of the best French actresses – Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert, and Emmanuelle Beart.
