5. The Golden Compass, 2007
The Golden Compass, based on the books by Philip Pullman, was supposed to be the first in the movie franchise.
But neither the stunning special effects, nor the cute protagonist Lyra, nor the villain with the face of Nicole Kidman saved the movie from the attacks of critics and fans of Pullman's books.
The reviews were mixed, the ratings were low. However, the movie won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
4. Crash, 2004
A body is found on a street in Los Angeles. After that the action of the movie is transmitted a day earlier, and in the center of the story are several people of different nationalities and colors, connected one way or another, united by three stories.
A contrived crime drama, cobbled together from short stories, more or less united in the finale. Fortunately, everyone forgot about this movie almost immediately after it won the Oscar.
3. Dances with Wolves, 1990
An epic western in which Kevin Costner painfully adapts his body to the Indian way of life. An extreme test of endurance and stamina for the audience is three hours of total monotonous inactivity.
Or all four, if someone decides to watch the director's cut.
2. The Wolfman, 2010
In 1941, when the original Wolfman was made, this cheap thrash movie became a horror classic and influenced every movie about man and beast for the next seventy years.
In 2010, a remake was released with a budget of $90 million and great actors like Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt, but the cast didn't manage to save the movie.
Still, it did manage to win an Oscar for Best Makeup.

Suicide Squad was released in 2016 with an all-star cast including Margot Robbie, Will Smith, and Jared Leto.
Critics wrote devastating reviews, and fans were quick to label James Gunn 's movie the worst DC adaptation ever.
However, Suicide Squad received an Oscar for makeup and hair.
