5 American Horror Story Scenes That Сrossed The Line

American Horror Story is one of the few series that gives the fans creeps during each and every episode. Ironically enough, that is also the reason why the show is so loved.

Since its premiere in 2011, we have seen tons of disturbing scenes that kept us awake at night. So many moments made us squint our eyes and cover our ears just to feel safe from what was going on on the screen.

Here are some of them.

1. Vivien and Rubber Man

There have been a bunch of absolutely disturbing sex scenes over the 11 seasons of the show (and we're sure the new season 12 will give us some, too), but this particular scene from the very first episode of American Horror Story scares us to death.

In the scene, Vivien is having sex with a man in a rubber suit. And while the fans already knew that it wasn't Ben, Vivien didn't, and that made the whole thing even more disgusting. However, the biggest twist was when we found out that it was Tate's ghost...

2. Lana's aversion therapy

Asylum has lots of moments that we want to unsee. One of them is when Sarah Paulson's character Lana is institutionalized for being gay. She is forced into therapy, but the specialist uses the most untraditional methods to "save" her. He gives Lana aversion therapy, and the process is simply painful to watch.

The worst scene in this storyline is the one where the therapist forces Lana to touch herself while looking at a naked man. This scene is a terrifying portrayal of emotional abuse under the guise of help.

3. The frat house

Another twisted sex scene that fans thought was too much. In the very first episode of Coven, several young witches arrive at a sorority party. And during that party, Emma Roberts' Madison receives a drink that knocks her unconscious. And after that, the frat boys take her to the bedroom.

The scene of the actual assault is very graphic and frankly difficult to watch. Even for a show that regularly deals with such kind of violence, this explicit portrayal of a gang rape goes too far and lasts unnecessarily long.

4. Elsa's past

When fans finally learned the backstory of Jessica Lange's character, they quickly wanted to return to the unknown. Elsa eventually opens up that she once worked as a dominatrix in a brothel. And one day she was heavily drugged and forced to take part in some kind of movie. It was then that she had her legs cut off...for the sake of the "story".

5. Mr. Guinea

This time it wasn't a human being who was harmed in the show, but an innocent animal. A little guinea pig appears in episode 3 of season 7, only to be brutally killed by an unknown murderer. It's always painful to see animals suffer at the hands of violence, but this time the showrunners just went too far, depicting the little pig's death after being placed in a microwave oven.
