3 Body Problem Creators Already Know Exactly How Many Seasons They Want

It’s been only two weeks since Netflix's science fiction series 3 Body Problem premiered, but its highest ratings and enthusiastic reviews speak volumes.

And while many fans who have already watched the show till the end were wondering whether 3 Body Problem’s television story will see more seasons, the show’s creators seem to already have a solid answer for this popular question.

Based on Liu Cixin’s novel of the same name, 3 Body Problem is a new television creation from Game of Thrones’s veterans David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (yes, it’s them who wrote all the epic scenes for the cult fantasy show).

While promoting the brand new series back in March, the creators revealed that they would love to explore the show’s universe further as there’s already a basis existing for it.

Thus, David Benioff said that, given that 3 Body Problem initially counts three books and season 1 primarily comes from the first book, the series may eventually be expanded to 3 or 4 seasons in total.

As Benioff highlighted, the second season can be also based on the second book while the third book is quite massive, so the creators will still have to decide whether it would be better to divide the last book’s events into two separate seasons.

Though the new sci-fi hit is a captivating and compelling story for both Benioff and Weiss as well, they nonetheless can’t promise that the show will make a return with a new season anytime soon.

Despite 3 Body Problem’s status of Netflix’s number one series and delighted reviews from both viewers and critics, the show hasn’t been renewed yet.

So far the only promising hint for fans is that the creators have already started working on the next season’s storyline.
